Every PDF job, done on your device
Pick a tool, drop a file, get it back. Page tools open a full-screen workspace; nothing you drop ever leaves this browser.

PDF tools that never touch your files
Most free PDF sites upload your document to a server, process it there, and hand back a download link. Your file, and whatever is in it, passes through someone else's infrastructure. For a birthday flyer that's fine. For a bank statement, a contract, or a medical record, it is a risk you don't need to take.
Every tool here works differently. The processing runs on your own machine using WebAssembly, the same technology that lets browsers run near-native code. Your file is read into local memory, changed, and handed back, all without a network request. Close the tab and it is gone.
Two shapes of tool
Some jobs need you to see the pages. Reordering, cropping, splitting, stamping and signing all depend on picking the right page, so those tools open a full-screen workspace: every page as a thumbnail down one side, the controls down the other, and a single save at the end.
The rest do not need any of that. Converting a file, making it smaller, putting a password on it or taking one off: the job is the same whichever page you happen to be looking at. Those tools stay on the page you are already on. Drop the file, press the button, take the result.

On a phone the workspace puts its controls in a sheet at the bottom of the screen rather than a side panel, so the page thumbnails keep the width. The one tool genuinely happier on a desktop is the editor, which needs room for a tool rail, thumbnails, a properties panel and a canvas at once.
Common questions
What people ask before they drop a file in.
01Are these PDF tools really free?
Free. Every tool, unlimited use, no signup and no watermark on the output.
02Do my files get uploaded?
No. Every tool runs in your browser via WebAssembly. Files are read into local memory and never sent to a server.
03Do I need to install anything?
No. Everything runs on the web page. Once a tool has loaded, most work offline until you close the tab.
04Which tools work on a phone?
All of them run on a phone. The workspace tools put the controls in a sheet at the bottom of the screen; the editor is easier with a desktop-sized screen.
05Is there a file size limit?
No fixed limit. Your device's memory is the ceiling, which on most machines comfortably handles files up to a few hundred megabytes.
