01How is PDFslime free?
Advertising pays for it, and nothing else. There is no paid tier, no premium feature held back, and no limit on how much you use. If you would rather not see personalised ads, decline the cookie banner and the ads become contextual.
02Can you see the files I open?
No, and not because of a policy we promise to keep. The tools run as JavaScript in your browser, so no document is ever sent anywhere for us to receive. Close the tab and the file is gone from memory.
03Do you track me?
We set no analytics of our own and we never see what is inside a document. The advertising is Google's, and if you accept the cookie banner Google personalises what you see, which does involve recognising you across sites. Declining leaves the ads contextual only.
04Is there a catch?
No account, no email, no watermark on anything you produce, and no page or file limit beyond what your device can hold in memory. The trade is that you see ads.
05Does it work offline?
Once a tool has loaded, most of them keep working with the network off until you close the tab. The first load needs a connection to fetch the page and its libraries.
06Who builds it?
A small team. Bug reports and questions go through the contact page, and they are read.
